Wickett and Craig Traditional Harness Leather is a new Leather from the tannery. It is very glossy but not waxy.  It marks and scuffs easily with lighter tones showing through, but can be buffed to like-new very quickly. It also burnished very nicely and should develope an awesome patina and a lot of character with use.
From Wickett and Craig :

“TRADITIONAL HARNESS

Using an exclusive blend of waxes, oils and tallows, we hot stuff these leathers to bring out their inherent beauty. Through a traditional process called jack glazing, oils are brought to the surface to create a glossy finish that never mask the leather’s natural grain. As a result, Traditional Harness is ideal for equestrian gear, yet, when split to a lower weight, it’s equally suitable for leather goods”
